Product Description
Students love this activity as it is like a puzzle. Higher order thinking including categorizing and organizing is required as students must figure out the three categories -- fiction, non-fiction and picture books -- then place the "book spines" under each category in call number order. It also allows for discussion of how to organize books when you have two books by the same author (by title), and that biographies are organized by the last name of the subject NOT the author.

Print this out on several colors of card stock paper, then cut them up, mix them up, and place them in small baggies so they are easily organized and students at the same table don't get the pieces mixed up.

PLEASE NOTE: we use the call number E for picture books and 921 for biography. If you do not, you will have to make some adjustments.
