The unit consists of:
One emergent reader, which is a follow-up to reading the literature selection. It is a patterned reader purposely designed to introduce beginning reading skills in a meaningful text environment. The reader is available in color/black and white. Also available is an interactive version where the students are required to cut and paste the picture corresponding to the text.
➢ Letter Identification Game- students would be required to match same letters on the game board, match lower-case and upper-case letters or place the letters in the correct alphabet order. They are also required to identify the letters they are working with.
➢ Focus Initial Sound of “Ll or Bb” – game partners or individual players would draw from the picture cards provided (realistic pictures) and determine if they begin with a “Ll or Bb” sound. They would be required to print these letters accordingly.
➢ Printing Letter Booklet- you will also gain access to entire alphabet printing booklet.
➢ Sight Word Identification - The teacher would print the focus sight word (s) on the game board provided. Students would spin a top and say the sight words displayed.
