KID APPROVED FUN! If you use www.storylineonline.net (StoryLine Online) for read aloud/ shared reading stories find the adapted to Readers' Theater script for the students to work on reading fluency. I play the story Library Lion read by the talented Mindy Sterling with the "Closed Captioning" on. Then a small group of students can use the script to become the CHARACTERS and practice intonation inflection, fluency and comprehension skills. Students respond to hearing Mindy Sterling use her talent for the different voices of Mr. McBee and Miss Merriweather. It's wonderful, especially for reluctant readers; as well as students with Autism that need support with comprehension (sequencing, theme/ lessons, remember details from the text, inferring details). A great opportunity to discuss theme: Sometimes there are good reasons to break rules.
