This powerpoint presentation is designed for use at the beginning of the school year
to welcome elementary students back to the library, to review basic rules and procedures, point out new things and to generally motivate students to think of the library as a friendly and useful place to be.
Students should be allowed to ‘tour’ the library after viewing this PPT in order to make connections to their own actual areas of interest and use. Use this lesson to generate initial conversations about how the library will be part of their weekly or bi-weekly schedule.
Included in this package:
*17 slide orientation powerpoint to be used in one or two sessions
*6 rule cards
*24 library signage cards (including Dewey)
*complete instructions for prep and use
