***PowerPoint enhanced and new resources added June 23 2014.
This is a 5 day (30 min each) Visual Arts lesson plan with connections to ELA. Students explore the work of Roy Lichtenstein, and the Pop Art movement. Students will create art focusing on onomatopoeia. The project could also be adapted to use action words. This would be a great arts integration project for the classroom teacher. The zip file includes a PowerPoint and lesson plan.
The PowerPoint includes information about the artist Roy Lichtenstein and onomatopoeia. It also includes pictures of 4 student project examples. There are links to online videos and discussion topics in the 'notes' of slides. There are no photos in the attached slide show to prevent breaking copyright laws. However, I have included links in the 'notes' to the pictures online that I used when presenting this lesson in my own classroom.
The lesson plan includes visual arts benchmarks, I can statements, day-by-day directions, and a supplies list.
