You can cover teaching the science topic of life cycles and the language arts topic of non-fiction text features in this easy to create booklet. Non-fiction text features included in the booklet are as follows:
table of contents, illustration, caption, diagram, labels, photograph, glossary.
Using your curriculum resource or books about life cycles, students will make a booklet using this template. Information about life cycles is not included in this product. It is just a template for students to make their own non-fiction book about one of the following animals (frog, sea turtle, chicken, butterfly or salmon). If you need a different animal, please email me at email@example.com and I will do my best to accommodate.
I stapled the template sheets together and then the students worked to research their animal's life cycle using books, posters, and videos. Once they had all their information filled in I then gave them two pieces of construction paper which had been folded in half and made into an 8 page booklet. Students then cut their pages apart and glued them on to the construction paper booklet. My students were so proud of their finished product.
