This is an internet, interactive activity where the students will begin reading about the life cycle of a star and answer a few basic questions. They should have already had some prior learning about the life cycles of stars.
Once the first 5 questions are complete in the initial website, the second part is a guided interactive on a website that takes then on a Journey to a Black Hole. Here they will complete a section called "Finding the Invisible" and they will search the sky with a Radio Telescope, X-Ray Telescope and Visible Light Telescope. They will be able to see many of the objects in our universe in all three of these types of light and read about these objects.
The final part they will take an interactive Journey to a Black Hole by traveling in a space ship and choosing the speeds that they will travel. Once getting to the black hole, they will get "Up Close and Personal" where they will get to perform various experiments such as orbiting a black hole, dropping a clock in a black hole and falling into a black hole. All of these will interactively engage the students through great visual animation and explanation of the phenomena.
