This interactive STEAM project allows students to research the lifecycle of a turkey and display their work in an attractive & surprising way! This project makes a great learning extension to your unit on Thanksgiving or farm animals. These fans are an ideal way for the teacher to integrate science, the reading of nonfiction texts, research, and informational writing.
Fact Fans work well for practicing note-taking, introducing research, for center work, fast finishers, independent projects, and as a supplement to your science unit on life cycles.
After note-taking, students edit their work and publish their information. They color the egg, embryo, poult, and turkey and hole-punch the fans at the bottom. A metal brad through the circles completes the project.
When complete, students can fan the project into a circular shape to represent the never-ending life cycle of turkeys.
Complete teacher directions and a page of recommended books to use with this project are included. Vocabulary word wall cards are included, as well.
