Surprise your students with a unit about everyone's favorite picnic guest - the ant! This interactive STEAM project allows students to research the lifecycle of an ant and display their work in an attractive & surprising way! These fans are an ideal way for the teacher to integrate science, the reading of nonfiction texts, research, and informational writing.
These Fact Fans are ideal for practicing note-taking, introducing research, for center work, fast finishers, independent projects, and as a supplement to your science unit on life cycles.
After note-taking, students edit their work and publish their information. They color the eggs, larva, pupa, and adult ants and hole-punch the fans at the bottom. A metal brad through the circles completes the project. Vocabulary word wall cards are included, as well.
When complete, students can fan the project into a circular shape to represent the never-ending life cycle of ants.
Complete teacher directions and a page of recommended books to use with this project are included.
