Product Description
Life Is Beautiful is an Academy Award Winning film that serves as an excellent supplemental study to holocaust literature units, such as Night by Elie Weisel. Life Is Beautiful is also an excellent stand alone film study for its unique tragicomedy genre.

This resource includes digital and print introductory stations to introduce the themes and genre. Students will be asked a variety of tasks, including listening to and analyzing the music of the film, analyzing a fable, studying tragicomedy as a genre, making connections to real-world characteristics related to challenging situations, and examining metacognitive connections to universals.

Also included are Guided Viewing and Analysis Questions Guides:
The left side of the questions guide is the Guided Viewing Questions (GVQs). These 30 questions should be completed as the students are watching the film to check for understanding. The analysis questions are numbered uniquely in the right column. Please note there is not an analysis question for each GVQ question. The Analysis Questions (AQ) align in some way to the corresponding GVQs which is why the numbering will be skewed. (Some numbers will be missing on this side. This is not a mistake. They are intended to be numbered differently so the students can identify which GVQ it relates to. There are less AQs.) Because the AQs require students to make connections, the analysis questions should be completed after the film is completed and all of the GVQs have been answered.

*This unit is compatible with Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive and includes directions for each. A short video tutorial is also included to assist with saving your document to Google Drive; written directions are included for saving your document to Microsoft OneDrive.*
