This resource is a great addition to your science curriculum! Using these vocabulary cards, you can be sure that your students know the standards, know the essential, distinguished, and extension vocabulary associated with each unit, and are able to fully explain them! Every single science standard is assessed within each vocabulary unit purchase, and for many of the standards, there are a plethora of words to use!
These are a great assessment during your science time, or these are great to include in centers as a way to focus on extension while you integrate science content!
Don't forget to check out my store for other units as well!
Each unit is divided into Essential Vocabulary, Distinguished Vocabulary, and Extension Vocabulary, so that you can help to push your students to higher and higher depths of knowledge within each unit!

•5SC.C.6: obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to group organisms using scientific classification procedures
•5SC.C.6.a: develop a model that illustrates how animals are sorted into groups (i.e., vertebrate and invertebrate) and how vertebrates are further sorted into groups (i.e., fish, amphibians, reptile, bird, and mammal) using data from multiple sources
•5SC.C.6.b: develop a model that illustrates how plants are sorted into groups (i.e., vascular, nonvascular) and how vascular plants are further sorted into groups (i.e., seed producers, non-seed producers) using data from multiple sources
•5SC.C.7: obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to compare and contrast the parts of plant and animal cells

•5SC.C.7.b: develop a model to identify and label parts of a plant cell (i.e., membrane, wall, cytoplasm, nucleus, chloroplasts) and of an animal cell (i.e., membrane, cytoplasm, and nucleus)
•5SC.C.7.c: construct an explanation that differentiates between the structure of plant and animal cells
•5SC.C.7.d: construct an explanation to explain the function of plant and animal organelles (i.e., cell membrane, cytoplasm, cell wall, nucleus, and chloroplast)
