Product Description

My Lifeskills Bootcamp is designed with High School Seniors in mind, but I know that many of my younger students could benefit from yearly exposure to the material as well. The unit addresses essential financial and employability skills that many high school students may lack. Enjoy!

Do your high school students lack essential life skills of money management and employability?

Designed by a speech therapist for speech therapists and special education instructors/intervention specialists, the Senior Year Bootcamp program will teach your students the skills of: budgeting, consumer affairs, employment, and spending money.

Examples of included items are: guided notes, practice, mock resume, mock interview, calculating budgets, calculating sales, problem solving for employment, and task cards to practice real world consumer transactions.

Students will practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in real-world applications that require critical reasoning and logical thinking.

Program objectives include:

Independently develop and calculate a realistic budget based and income and needs.

Recognize a good deal by calculating a sale price

Calculate customary tips when dining out.

Successfully apply for and interview for a job.

Recognize characteristics of a good employee..

Demonstrate problem solving skills for common issues in the workplace.

Calculate the cost of needed items.

Follow a budget.

Recognize correct denominations for payment and ensure correct change is given.

Although the program was specifically designed for students who will soon be leaving the 'safety net' of high school, the program is appropriate for 9-12th grade students that need to learn essential financial and employability skills.
