When we buy our clothes, they look nice. Eventually, clothing will become worn. Yet, the temperature that we use when we wash our clothing can either extend or shorten the life of our clothing. It is very important to use the clothing tags and the knowledge of the fabric that we are washing to select the correct laundry temperature. This lesson opens the door for discussion on the following topics:
* The difference between dry cleaning versus using a washer and dryer.
* Description of the machine wash cold, warm, and hot symbols - and when to wash clothing with each temperature.
* Damage that may occur if we use the incorrect temperature
A 6 page PDF with the answer key is included in the package. The PDF can be printed and completed as independent lessons or homework. There is no need for a computer with this option. These lessons will change your class!!
The Adobe PDF has a link to the web-based lesson. The lesson on the web is over 20 pages and enriched with many visual aides. The web passed lesson also has a component that will allow the graded assessment to be emailed to you.
As a group option, the lesson can be completed on an interactive board. This format is ideal for whole class instruction/discussion.
