When teaching special needs students they will come in and not have full answers about their weekend. We always try to build conversations about their lives. I send this home before the weekend. All students have different abilities but this can be done for all students.
**Nonverbal/no writers and sit with parent/guardian while it’s filled out.
**Low-level writers can write 1-2 words and draw a nice picture
**Mid-level writers can attempt full sentences with mild support
**Higher-level writers can write full sentences with an illustrated drawing.
This is a great way to build communication.
