This research project will keep students engaged as they choose from several different options to create presentations about life in colonial America. Different groups will explore the northern, the mid-Atlantic, and southern colonies. They will be asked to find the reasons for founding (for each colony in the region), where most of the colonists came from, characteristics of the area, including geography and climate, natural resources & how they were used, the economy- how people made a living, what homes and towns or cities were like, the religion and education, and important people who lived there.
This project is a great way for students to take control over their learning and really be engaged!
