This play is meant to be a fun activity to help teach the Growth of the 13 Colonies in a social studies classroom. The play takes about 10-15 minutes.
I use this play when we are learning about the southern colonies. This is a part of my overall lesson on the Growth of the Colonies.
The play covers these points:
-Slavery in the southern colonies
-Education in the southern colonies
-Plantation life in the southern colonies
-Identifies the southern colonies
-Compares life in the south to the middle and New England colonies
My students love to be active in the classroom. They are more engaged when they are a part of the learning process.
In fact, on the day we are learning about the Growth of the 13 Colonies, we perform this play along with two others - Life in the Middle Colonies and Life in the New England colonies. Both of these plays are available in my TPT store.
You can also buy them all together as a bundle. I included the handout we use in class to take notes and learn about the growth of the thirteen colonies. This is also available on my TPT store.
Please let me know how my products worked in your classroom!
