There are 7 Canadian citizens represented in this print & go activity, each with a brief overview about their life in Canada. Students are to decide what types of jobs they would suggest for each citizen and how that job assisted in the war effort.
This activity can be used to reinforce a lesson on life at the home front in Canada. It should work well with any textbook or other resource material. The answer key might need some adjustment depending on the information provided in whatever supplementary resource material you provide (eg. class textbook, lesson notes, etc.)
I personally use the Canadiana Scrapbook with this activity, but the citizen stories are general enough they'd work with any textbook or resource material.
This activity was intended for the World War 1 unit in a Canadian History classroom, but it could be used effectively for a World War 2 lesson on the home front as well, with minor adjustments to the answer key only.
