Pg. 16-18 Adverbs! This is for the 2014 version – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines – write four adverbs for each type of adverb – lift the flap and use one of the four adverbs in a sentence
Pg. 19-21 Contraction Surgery! This is for the 2012 version – cut out the word boxes – cut the letter or letters off that are being removed – glue the remaining letters with the band-aide apostrophe onto the surgery paper forming it into a contraction
Pg. 22-30 Let’s Explore the Arctic / Let’s Explore Antarctica – a craft and writing project – write to persuade your reader as to which region you would like to explore – use details of jobs that you would complete in that area of the country and reasons of why you would like to explore there – copy patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper – glue the face onto the white fur hood – cut around the hood to fringe it – glue on glasses, button, etc – add nose, mouth, eyebrows, pink cheeks with a crayon – attach writing and craft to a large piece of construction paper- see example
Pg. 31-36 Main Idea Penguin – copy penguin patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper- add main idea and detail bubbles – glue penguin together as seen in the example
