Cut, stack, staple and read books are great to use with early emergent readers! Reading patterns helps build fluency and confidence in young readers!
Starting a unit on lifecycles and need a quick and easy 'no prep' center/activity to reinforce what you are teaching?
Is your school attempting to reduce paper use? If so, these are perfect- it is the benefit of a 4-page reader but only uses 1 page per student!
These flip books will meet the needs of all the learners in your classroom and support and align with Common Core Standards for Emergent Readers & Writers! Great for a non-fiction unit of study too!
This Pack Includes:
*5 ‘Cut, Stack, Staple & Read’ activities associated with lifecycles of:
flowers, pumpkins, apples, frogs & butterflies
~reviews the following sight words:
I, see, the, here, is, a, this
*5 Picture/Word cards (optional) for the last page of each flip book
*1 blank form- use to make additional practice or
have students write/illustrate their own books!
*Teach your students how to properly use a stapler
(mini staplers work great for this!)
and these can be used as a literacy/ ‘make-a-book’ center!
*Students cut out the pictures, stack them together,
staple them to the bottom sentence form
and then read the sentences they have created!
*A blank space on the bottom allows for students to create
(draw and sound spell/write) the last ‘part’ of each lifecycle!
~or use the provided page of picture/word cards if students are unable to do so on their own
*Reduces paper waste (the benefit of a 4 page book on 1 page!)
and requires NO PREP- just download, copy (and make a model)!
