Light Energy - Minibook and Activities! This fun and easy resource includes the following:
All About Light Interactive Minibook- Students will read about what light is (including prism and spectrum), how it travels (reflect, refract, absorb), materials that allow light to move through them (transparent, translucent, opaque), and properties of light (color and brightness). Students can read independently, with a partner, in a small group, or as a whole class. A short quiz is on the back of the book, as well as a quick word search for early finishers.
The minibook is comprehensive but also easy enough to leave with a substitute. :)
Light Coloring Activity- Students will color pictures and then they will identify which colors have been reflected and which have been absorbed. These work great as centers, or early finisher work. You can also cut them out and place in interactive science journals.
Science Journal Vocabulary Foldables- Students will create 2 different foldables using the vocabulary words from the mini-book about light.
Draw and Write- Students will illustrate, color and write about light. They can write a non-fiction or fiction piece. A non-fiction piece makes a great assessment.
