Get students engaged in thinking about how to be kind to others and the benefits of kindness. This activity is designed as a learn at lunch, where students can stop by on their lunch break. They fill out coloured lightbulbs with how they will be kind. These bulbs are then hung across a paper globe, "lighting up" the world. Originally done pre-winter break, but could be run anytime!
Included in this package are the template for the bulbs (just copy on coloured paper), a proposal and rational (using the 40 Developmental Assets for Adolescence), and a file of pictures to decorate a trifold. Not included is the globe, since it is easier to draw one out on poster paper (or use a real globe!).
This activity can also be turned into a bulletin board so that students can see what their peers are doing to promote kindness in the world.
