What is a shadow? How it is made? Why does it change? These are a few of the questions that students will learn throughout this week long unit.
This unit is designed to last five days. Each day, students are in charge of their learning! Students will learn through observations and experiments!
Day 1 - Students will learn about shadows after observing shadows outside
Day 2 - Students will learn about transparent, translucent, and opaque objects. Students will experiment will various objects and a flashlight to determine how much light passes through it one.
Day 3 - Students will create and observe a sundial throughout the day.
Day 4 - Students will work with a partner to create a "shadow puppet" skit about what they've learned.
Day 5 - Students will perform their shadow puppet skit.
