This roll, count, color activity is the perfect addition to any camping or bug theme. Students roll their dice, count the number, and then color the coordinating number.
There are 2 different activities included in the packet.
Pages 1-2: Students roll one dice, find the matching number, and color the picture. You can make it a game where every child has a dice and they see who can color all their numbers first. However, I like to only use one dice and have the kids take turns. I let them continue to roll until they get a new number so they always get a turn to color. This not only helps with counting and number recognition, but also with taking turns.
Pages 3-4: Students roll the dice and graph their number. They continue until they graph one number 3 times, which becomes their winning "lightning bug jar" number. For this activity, each child receives their own dice. This is for more independent practice.
Each activity includes 2 worksheets to be used with 1 dice only.
These activities have been created with the growth of the child in mind. They begin with the numbers in order for easy recognition and then mix the numbers up to create more of a challenge.
It's a great morning work activity, can be left at a math center, or can be used in cooperative learning.
This is a great way to continue roll, count, & color in your classroom which can be used throughout the year! From pumpkins to turkeys to hearts to shamrocks, there are roll, count, and color activities available for your classroom through the year!
My students love to play this game. They often make up their own rules! It's so much fun to watch them having fun as they learn!!!
