This file includes project instructions and all necessary student planning pages.
Divide students into groups. Give each group a movie title card. Students will work together, using their imaginations and knowledge of language arts, to design a movie based on the title they are given. As they plan, they must create two main characters, a setting, and plot. They must also come up with a movie summary, theme, and three important character quotes for their movie. These quotes should “hook” their audience and make them want to watch the movie. After the planning is complete, each group will create a trailer for their movie! This can be done as part of the project or for bonus points for groups that finish the planning portion of the project quickly.
Students are graded on 5 skills:
The understanding of characters and how they effect the plot.
The understanding of setting and how it effects the characters and plot.
The understanding of the three parts of plot.
The understanding of summary and theme.
The ability to correctly quote using quotation marks.
