You can easily see the like terms because they are different colors. The x's and x^2's are both blue so you can see they are related, but they are not the same color blue, so they are not the same. You can explain the difference between the commutative and associative laws, what like terms are, as well as teach students how to solve equations and inequalities! It's great for students who are kinesthetic and just don't get "add to both sides." Most kids who need this try it once or twice, and suddenly "get" those hard to get concepts!
EXPANSION SET INCLUDES: Symbols, x^2's, y^2, and xy cards.
