This product was created to introduce combining like terms to students in a scaffolded manner. The "worksheet" begins with recognizing whether or not two terms are "like", then continues on with listing the terms in an expression, grouping like terms together, combining like terms, and, finally, putting it all together to combine like terms in expressions.
This product can be used in an Interactive Lecture, where the teacher demonstrates one or two examples in each step or category (described above), and, then, has the students work on practice problems.
Alternatively, the content could be taught in lecture form, and, then, the worksheet could be given to the students to work on.
This product has an answer key.
