This resource includes individual mini-quizzes (5-10 questions each) for every chapter of the novel Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. These straightforward reading comprehension questions are meant to help students recall key characters, events, and motifs in the text. They can be used individually as an in-class review, put together to make full-length quizzes and tests, as a recap for students who have missed reading, or even as a quick reminder for the teacher of key moments to point out in a particular chapter.
Each quiz is on its own neat, attractive slide, and is followed by a separate answer slide that is animated so teachers can go over questions one-by-one if using the PowerPoint in class. The answer slides also include explanations for questions that students may find confusing, as well as notes about answers that teachers may want to discuss further or change. It is a PowerPoint 97-2003 file, so no one should have problems opening or editing it.
I've used these questions all three years that I've taught LWFC, making adjustments and improvements each time. They are the handiest resource I've made for myself and my students. Without the basic comprehension and recall that these quizzes require, students won't have the foundation to dig deeper into the text.
Best of luck with this resource! Be on the lookout for other LWFC resources coming soon, and don't forget to leave feedback!
