Students are excited to learn when they get up and moving around the room for a walkabout activity. This 5-E based lesson challenges students to identify, classify, and explain the differences between limited and unlimited governments on the lives of citizens.
A PowerPoint presentation will guide you easily through the entire lesson. Engage with a government web activity for interactive notebooks. Explore with definitions and examples with the option to take notes. Explain with a student practice handout classifying real world examples of each government style. Elaborate with the walkabout activity where students will analyze 15 posters hung around the room with descriptions of limited and unlimited governments. Evaluate what they have learned by challenging students to write an eyewitness newspaper article exposing abuses of an unlimited government.
Lesson Includes: PowerPoint presentation, 3 student handouts, fill-in notes, answer key, 15 sign walkabout set, and teacher quick reference guide
