Abraham Lincoln was without a doubt one of the most memorable Presidents of the United States. During the Civil War he aided in the process of leading the country though what was probably our darkest hour.
The saddest part, is that many Americans today - especially our students know little in the way of the sheer depth of the questions Lincoln was posed with when it came to the passing of the 13th Amendment and the abolishment of slavery in our country.
These guided film questions are advanced in the sense that certain subjects of Lincoln's mentality are explored along with other historic figures such as Thaddeus Stevens and Mary Lincoln. Students will have the opportunity to see the legal issues in the Emancipation Proclamation along with watching the film and observing the destructive nature that this battle had on Lincoln himself who felt besieged from all angles in his efforts to destroy slavery.
