Common Core Aligned Task Cards to help you tackle line plots with your students.
4.MD.4: Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots. For example, from a line plot find and interpret the difference in length between the longest and shortest specimens in an insect collection.
It can also be used in a fifth grade classroom as a review.
I have used these in small math groups as turn and talks, as a "Do Now", and as exit cards. I also love using these as a whole class review and in math centers.
They are differentiated.
Cards 1-6 contain a constructed line plot with two questions.
Cards 7-12 contain a data set to construct a line plot and one question.
Cards 13-18 contain a data set to construct a line plot and then the students have to create a word problem to go along with the line plot.
I hope you enjoy these cards and please leave feedback!
