### Description

In this mini-project/center activity, students will measure lengths to create and analyze a line plot.

Students will first measure lines on 26 lettered cards to the nearest 1/8 inch and record their data on the included chart. Then, students will create a line plot using the data they have gathered. Finally, students will answer a set of questions about the line plot they have created.

INCLUDED:

•26 lettered cards with lines (all lines are between 4 and 5 inches)

•Line plot length recording page (in color and black and white)

•Make a line plot student work page

STANDARD 4.MD.4:

Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots.

Although this center meets the above Common Core standard, this is NOT a Common Core specific skill! There is NO reference to the Common Core or the standard number on student pages, so this center is a great addition to any classroom!
