This SMART Notebook lesson teaches the different relationships between lines (intersecting, perpendicular, and parallel). Start with a brief review of line types (ray, point, line segment, line) and angles (right, acute, obtuse) before moving on to the new material. Each different line relationship is represented with real world examples to help students internalize the concepts before moving on to abstract and providing students the opportunity to use the terminology. Additional activities included to make the lesson multisensory, such as a Simon Says game involving bodily-kinesthetic arm motions to correspond with each line relationship. There is also a challenge slide at the end. An extremely exciting and engaging closure activity is a scavenger hunt in which students must find their way around the map following 3 specific clues using the terminology intersecting, parallel, and perpendicular. START THE SCAVENGER HUNT by clicking on the group of children in the bottom left!!!! When you get to each clue, click the X to return to the map!
