This activity is great for motivating students to get back into the school routine! Lining up has never been so much fun! These 20 cards are a great way to get your students thinking while lining up. Plus, it allows class members to learn something new about each other. Print, cut, and glue the cards onto cardstock. Laminate the cards, cut, and either place in a container to draw out a card or hole punch the cards onto a ring. Whichever works best for you!
Now you are all set! Just pull a card out of a container or flip to a card on a ring, and read it aloud. I try to use one or two of these cards a day. Start with the first word or phrase the card and read aloud; pause to allow those students to line up (if what you said applies to them). Continue reading the next word or phrase in the order given. The idea is to have all of your students lined up by the time you reach the last word or phrase on the card.
Writing Cards are also included, which are a supplemental activity that go along with the “Lining Up Activity Cards.” You can choose to use or not to use the included Writing Cards.
