This Linear Class Race - 8 sets of equations - PP was created by Pupsaroni Puzzles for use in an Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 classroom during the study of Linear Forms of equations and characteristics such as x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and slope.
These cards can be used as matching cards or as a large class race. There are 3 cards on each page. They are NOT the same size, so be careful when cutting them.
Print as many sets as you need. Start with 6—10 sets, and print each set on a different color. Laminate the cards before cutting, and then put each set in a manila folder. When you see how many groups you have, dump out that many sets in one large pile (in the gym, in the middle of the hall, or outside). Each group is given their empty manila folder. They must work as a group to race and get cards and create sets. Set rules as you see fit.
Sets are checked by the small square letters on the right edge. Answer key is provided on the last page of this packet. As groups get sets correct, they may place them in their manila folder. Groups race to beat each other or a given time limit.
Students must match up x-intercept, y-intercept, slope, standard form, point-slope form, and slope-intercept form of an equation to make a set.
Have fun Racing!!!
