This activity supports CCSS Math Content 8.F.B.4. Get your students up and out of their seats with this activity that helps your students make connections between linear equations and their graphs using ideas such as slope and the vertical intercept. Each student is given a card with either a graph or an equation and they must find their match by talking with the other students about the characteristics of their graph or equation. There are 18 different graphs with a matching set of their corresponding equations in slope-intercept form (y=mx+b). Also included is a set of 18 corresponding equations in standard form (ax+by=c) that can be matched to the graphs or the slope-intercept equations. If you want your students to understand the connections between linear equations and their graphs, this activity is for you!
