Slope of a Line - Many math students struggle with the abstract nature of calculating the slope of a line using the slope formula.
Over the years, I have developed a fun, concise, and easy-to-understand PowerPoint presentation: Finding Slope by Counting (16 slides) that will have your students quickly and accurately counting slope. And once they fully grasp this concept, they will have a better understanding of the slope formula and other graphing linear equation concepts.
Included with the PowerPoint is a “review notes” printable that the students can keep with them as a refresher (great for students that miss the lesson).
This lesson is great for 7th and 8th graders who are being introduced (or reintroduced) to slope and algebra students struggling with the concept of slope, the slope formula, or graphing linear equations.
This is a PowerPoint only (with notes).
