This Linear Equations Sort is a fun, tactile way for students to practice fluency with multiple representations of linear equations. The sort includes 30 cards total: 10 equations, 10 graphs, and 10 table of values. Students must match the equation, graph, and table of values for each function. A handout is included for students to write their matches in a graphic organizer.
Ideas for Scaffolding:
-Only provide 2 sets of cards (i.e. graphs and equations) to students and have them correctly sort these before giving them the Table of Values cards
Ideas for Extension:
-Ask students to create their own "categories" for cards. Each category must have a minimum of 3 cards and must all have a mathematical property in common (i.e. positive slopes). Students can sort the cards into categories on their desks.
