Description

Students write the equations of linear equations in slope-intercept and point-slope forms. Problems include:

1: Write slope-intercept from 2 points

2: Write slope-intercept from 1 point and slope

3: Write slope-intercept from a data table

4: Write point-slope from 2 points

5: write point-slope from 1 point and slope

6: Translate from point-slope to slope-intercept.

Once a pennant is complete, it can be hung along a string in your classroom to show the world that, "Hey, we know how to write linear equations!"

Included in this download are 30 pennants, an optional student answer sheet and an answer key. Each group of students can be given a set of pennants, scissors and either glue, tape or a stapler. Students can be in charge of cutting out the pennants. Groups can compete to see which group can complete the most pennants or your entire class can add pennants to one string as they complete each one. You may also choose to have your students color their pennants to add to your classroom décor.

Construct a function to model a linear relationship between two quantities. Determine the rate of change and initial value of the function from a description of a relationship or from two (𝘹, 𝘺) values, including reading these from a table or from a graph. Interpret the rate of change and initial value of a linear function in terms of the situation it models, and in terms of its graph or a table of values.
Understand that the graph of an equation in two variables is the set of all its solutions plotted in the coordinate plane, often forming a curve (which could be a line).
Write a function that describes a relationship between two quantities.
