Students practice Slope-Intercept Form, Point-Slope Form, and Standard Form. They work with the equations of lines, graphs, x-intercepts and y-intercepts, and slopes.
This set of three activities can be used all at once or spread throughout a unit on linear equations. The activities are great for individual practice, homework, partner work, or even assessments.
In Practice Sheet A, Students are given an equation in slope-intercept form and have to find all of the cut-up pieces that match the same line (point-slope form of the same line, a table, graph, slope, y-intercept, and x-intercept.) Print one Practice sheet per student/group and one page of pieces for every TWO students/groups (they are half-pages and print two –per-page automatically). You can laminate the pieces and worksheets if you choose and use it as a “mat” and “pieces” for a reusable learning station.
In Practice Sheet B, Students are given an equation in point-slope form, and they must write the equation for the same line in slope-intercept form and standard form. They also must graph the line and give the slope, y-intercept, and x-intercept.
In Activity C, students match up the graph plus all three forms of the equation of a line (slope-intercept form, point-slope form, and standard form. This set looks great printed on colored cardstock. You can laminate and reuse this as a center activity.
