Linear Graphs & Equations in (h, k) Form
Students will match 12 sets from 48 cards.
i) linear graphs that clearly show three points including points A & B which always have known lattice point coordinates and point C whose (x, y) coordinates are unknown.
The three other cards that create a set are a
ii) description of the transformations that take y=x to the graph of the line
iii) three slope calculations: one yields the numerical slope using coordinates A and B, and two others yield expressions for slope using the point A and C and point B and C. These expressions set equal to the numerical slope are converted to the point-slope equation.
iv) point-slope equations one using point A, the other using point B.
