Included are 6 stations for Linear Functions. They are all word problems that are real life scenarios. Each problem has students create an equation, create a table, and answer a specific question regarding the scenario.
Not only does this include positive slopes, but negative slopes as well. (Adding money to a bank account, taking money off of a cafeteria card, etc....)
My favorite station has students create a linear function for Twitter! :) (You will need to be somewhat familiar with how Twitter works in order to get students started on this one.)
This activity was used on our second day with linear functions. Students spent 4 minutes at each station but probably could've used 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
At the end of the 6 stations, students were able to explain the answers they got and check their work with the entire class.
I was really impressed with how much my students understood creating linear functions after this activity. I hope you have much success as well! :)
