In this inquiry based, discovery activity students examine the location of points about a line and then answer questions about whether those points are solutions to an inequality. The goal of this activity is for students to observe that all of the points that are solutions to a less than inequality will lie below the line, and points that are solutions to a greater than inequality will lie above the line. Students construct their own meaning and understanding, and will be making observations and answering critical thinking questions that will help them to make sense of the solutions to linear inequalities.
This download also includes two column notes pages on graphing the solution to linear inequalities.
