Students are familiar with plotting points on the xy plane.
These four lessons are designed to be completed on a chromebook or other in-class technology. They go hand in hand with webpages on tentotwelvemath.com. The webpages are linked on the pdf, but can be found under the main menu item '10 FMP'
Students begin by plotting small sets of individual points to create some kind of recognisable shape.
They then plot many (how many?) points at once through using a 'slider tool'.
In the second, third and four explorations they use x,y relations to plot a relation that has 'infinitely many points'.
They are called 'explorations' as the technology allows for feedback and self correction. There are some open ended questions on each, but there's scope for a lot more open ended work once the students are equipped with a chromebook, geogebra and the tools used in the tasks.
