Looking for a math project that connects linear relations to a situation students can relate to? The Comparing Phone Plans Rich Task challenges students to model, compare, and analyze three different cell phone data plans.

Students represent each plan with an equation, a table, and a graph, then interpret rate of change and y-intercepts. They apply this information to decide which plan is best for different users, considering both the math and real-world factors like usage habits.

This project works well as a summative assessment, end-of-unit project, or enrichment activity. It is fully editable so you can adjust plan details or prices to reflect local providers.
