This matching activity was created for the Texas 7th grade math standard 7.7A.
7.7A Represent linear relationships using verbal descriptions, tables, graphs, and equations that simplify to the form y=mx+b
There are 4 scenarios each with a verbal description, table, graph, and equation.
Cut apart the cards for your students and have them match the representations together like a puzzle. The last two pages include 4 additional tables and equations that don't belong. Include these in the set of cards to make the activity a bit more difficult.
Each scenario uses the same numbers (5, -5, 12, or -12) to prevent students from just matching cards with the same numbers. They will actually have to think!
