This activity poses the real world question "Which is the better deal?" when buying one of three passes to an amusement park. Students are to develop equations, make tables, graph lines, and analyze their results. This activity can be used for a systems of equations unit but I have also use it before teaching systems.
This activity is ideal to put into students' portfolios. A rubric is included for grading and can be modified. It's also a great cooperative learning activity.
