Succinct board notes that lead the student through the ideas of using successive differences to investigate Linear (arithmetic) and Quadratic sequences. It covers the ability to find the coefficients and constants of a sequence by breaking it down to an easy to follow algorithm for both the Linear and Quadratic. While this is a stand-alone concept it does allow for links to higher investigations of Straight Line Graphs and also can lend itself to Precalculus by asking why the second difference of the Quadratic is constant.
The board notes are created for the Active Inspire software. They are designed to be shown using the reveal tool from top to bottom with grey rectangular "hides" to expose the writing underneath from left to right. The "hides" are selectable and can be moved with the select tool.
This way the students can progress through the board notes and you, as a teacher, can keep their focus on what you are showing them as opposed to revealing everything at once with a PowerPoint slide.
