Product Description
Linear and Nonlinear activities: card sort and poster give students an opportunity to identify and compare linear and nonlinear equations. Included are 20 equations cards (10 linear and 10 nonlinear) that are used for both activities. Card sort directions and headers are included along with poster directions, layout example, and a finished poster example.

I use this as an introductory lesson for identifying linear and nonlinear equations in my 8th grade math class and as a quick review for my high school Applied Algebra class. An answer key is not included as the equations used are of the simplest of form. Equations without an exponent are linear, while equations with an exponent are nonlinear (quadratic, cubic, etc).
