This math project using real life examples is a great cumulative activity for a geometry unit on lines, shapes, and angles and also a review for our state test. Students use architectural house designs to find everyday examples of different lines, shapes, and angles. I have included 10 house designs, a student assignment instruction sheet, a list of lines, shapes, and angles to find, and a rubric for the project. My students have always enjoyed this activity. It is like an "I Spy" activity.
This project can be incorporated into a whole group math lesson, used in small group, or a workstation assignment.
