Celebrate March and the signs of spring while practicing counting and number recognition with numbers 1 - 20! This download includes 3 activities that can be used in small groups, partner work or in math centers. Have fun!
Activity 1: Number Puzzles
There are 20 puzzles total (numbers 1 - 20), each with four pieces. The pieces show the number, the quantity, corresponding tens frame, and the number in written form. All puzzles have either lions or lambs to represent the quantity of the number.
Activity 2: Counting Clip Cards
Cut each clip card around the outside edge (there are 4 clip cards on each page).
Each clip card should show a quantity picture and 3 possible numbers. Students must count the number of lions or lambs in the picture and "clip" the correct number. There are 12 clip cards total.
Activity 3: Play-Doh Mats (My favorite!!)
Lamb Play-Doh Mats 1 -10- Have students roll play-doh into the shape of the correct number. Then students can show the quantity using play-doh balls on the tens frame. Finally, students can practice writing the number in written form with a dry erase marker.
Lion Play-Doh Mats 11 - 20 - Use these the same way!
